Blood Brain barrier (BBB) is a natural protective wall in the brain to restrict invasion of xenobiotics or toxic chemicals. This, turn, becomes major obstacle for researchers and industry people formulating new drugs treat disorders like tumors, Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis, meningitis, so on. The purpose this research study in-vitro cytotoxicity & BBB permeation curcumin-loaded phycocyanin nanosponges (Cur-PC NS) using Madin-Darby Canine Kidney (MDCK) cell lines. Cell viability Cur-PC NS was performed 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2.5- diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay, transepithelial electrical resistance (TEER) values, permeability coefficient were measured test integrity monolayer MDCK line. Results current showed that at 50µM, 85% cells are more viable there significant (p<0.01) reduction TEER values up 48 hours when compared curcumin. produced 2.5-fold increase enhancement ratio with Papp value 1.94±0.11×10-6 cm/s 4.86±0.04×10-6cm/s curcumin respectively. can be concluded used as carrier permeate which may play role treatment various disorders. Future studies needed substantiate exact mechanism clarification efflux transporters presented BBB.
